<itunes:summary>“People never forget that helping hand – especially when times are tough." Catherine Pulsifer

When the world seems to be ganging up on you, don't fear, there is help. When nothing seems to be going your way, don't fear, there is help. When you don't think that circumstances could possibly improve, don't fear, there is help. Through the darkness comes the light. It is when we are down on the ground that we have the power to look up.

Often in times of overwhelm, we forget about our own tremendous capabilities and the far-reaching capabilities of those around us. Even when it is very difficult, it is important for you to reach up, to reach out. When you muster the courage to ask for help, your life circumstances begin to set a new course – a solution is on the way. Look around you for sources of help – be it physical, emotional, financial, or spiritual. There are qualified resources all around you – some will even be quite eager to mobilize to support you.

So whatever it is that you are facing, look outside yourself and ask for help. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness. Asking for help opens doors to a faster and better solution – it builds a new foundation for you in problem solving. How could that be anything but good?

3-Step Call to Action

Write down the difficulties that you are facing in a particular area.
Be open; look out into your community of family, friends, church, and other organizations that are available to assist you in this area.
Truly connect with them – one at a time – to explore the possibilities and opportunities for their help going forward.

Stephen Covey

You can tell a lot about a person by noting who they spend their time with. You tend to become like the 5-6 closest people in your inner circle. Look around, do you like what you see? Are you spending time with people who you aspire to be like? Are you spending time with people who can teach you and guide you in a direction to improve yourself and to succeed in areas that are important to you? Are you spending time with people who share your core values?

Many of us become comfortable and complacent doing the same things over and over with the same people. Are there times when the behavior of this group is in conflict with your core values? Are your values being compromised as you drift toward the lowest common denominator in the group? One obvious example is bad language, another example is how they talk about others.

If you think that your values are being compromised, consider this as a wake-up call. Your values are on the line; your values are under siege. If not, then will you maintain the status quo do you aspire to strengthen and deepen any of your core values? How might you accomplish that?

3-Step Call to Action

Take inventory of your inner circle and their alignment with your current core values.
Take inventory of your inner circle and their alignment with your target core values.
Begin to make conscious adjustments in allocating your time to increase alignment with your aspired values.

Benjamin Franklin

Those little voices inside our heads are always telling us what to do - they want to be in charge. Where do they come from anyway? And where do they get these scripts that play over and over? It might be one thing if they were always upbeat and helpful. But the voices are not always the most supportive or constructive, are they?

The voices pretend to be protecting us but they are really limiting us, controlling us. You can use hope to silence these negative tirades. You KNOW you have a better future coming. When your little voices tell you otherwise it is time to call on hope. Summon it at will; hope to the rescue. You can dismiss the negative voices pulling you down and summon hope to give you perspective on your current situation and your life. Hope can win the battle for control over your thoughts and feelings – and over those pesky little voices. It takes practice, but it works. You can summon hope and rely on hope when you let go of control.

3-Step Call to Action

Figure out when your little voices are trying to steer you in the wrong direction.
Summon hope to specifically chart a different path.
Persistently silence the negative voices with positive thoughts and feelings of hope.

		<itunes:summary>“All men are tempted.....”
Henry Ward Beecher

Sometimes our commitment to our core values is tested over a long, protracted period. So maybe you can align with your values for small things or for instances of short duration. But can you be true to your core values over the long haul or when times get tough? This indeed takes courage. As we are worn down it becomes increasingly tempting to just give in. And to take the easy way out. Even Paul the Apostle denied Jesus 3 times, as prophesied.

So how then can we muster the courage and conviction to maintain our values under trial? When there is clarity, reaching the right answer is a little easier and your conviction to doing the right thing can be strong. But as we enter grey areas, it is tempting to give in and compromise our values for the sake of expediency or to go along with the crowd.

One approach is to use a series of “T” diagrams noting the advantages and disadvantages of taking a certain action. Getting it down on paper can clarify your position and strengthen your resolve, thus helping you to be better equipped to make an acceptable decision -one that you can live with.

3-Step Call to Action

Get your thoughts and options down on paper.
Fill out a “T” diagram to weigh the alternatives in an analytical and unemotional way.
Analyze the downstream implications of the proposed actions – then decide what is the best course of action for you at the time - knowing what you know.

It is relatively easy to stay on track when things are going well. But it takes real courage to stay on track when they aren't going so well. Hope can help you to stay on track through adversity. Hope brings with it the promise of a brighter future. Hope brings with it infinite possibilities.

By focusing your attention on the future of your dreams, hope can help you to rise above the daily distractions and machinations of everyday life. Hope helps you to keep your eye on the ultimate prize.

By thinking bigger and more long term, your hope can build a bridge to your new future. Your faith strengthens your hope; your hope strengthens your faith. Simply by developing a forward-looking goal, you've already set your sights on improved outcomes in your life. Hope can make these dreams a reality when coupled with commitment and targeted action. Hope can guide your actions so that they reinforce each other to bring you closer to your goal with less angst. When times are tough, hope can see you through and help you to stay on track. Don't leave home without it!

3-Step Call to Action

Recognize that adversity is part of life; simply accept it.
Train your mind to build up hope for a new future. It might take a little practice but it is soo worth it.
Take actions that lead you to that new future - while your hope cheers you on.

<itunes:summary>“Not being able to govern events, I govern myself, and apply myself to them, if they will not apply themselves to me.” Michel de Montaigne

Sometimes in life we are truly overwhelmed. Things seem to come at us from all directions – and often, all at the same time. Just when we think that we could not possibly handle one more thing, then there is is anyway – distinctly without our permission. In this situation, we have no choice but to handle it, somehow, some way.

During this bombardment, our values are there to guide us – they are our foundation principles. When we are not thinking clearly our values can guide us. When we are overcome, our values can guide us. If at all possible it would be helpful to defer decisions until a time when we could think more clearly. But sometimes this is just not possible. So act we must, but how?

If you must act, rely on your core values. Be true to them. Act no differently in times of crisis as in times of calm. Your values provide a safe harbor where there is comfort and familiarity. Depend on your core values to take the actions that you will be proud of when you look back on them later. Consider how your actions will reflect back on you and your family for years to come.

3-Step Call to Action

Identify any decisions that can be deferred to a later, potentially calmer time. Defer them.
Identify any decisions that must be made now and fully understand the parameters and scope of the those decisions.
For each decision that cannot wait till a calmer time, explore your options and their relative alignment with your values, then act accordingly. And be at peace with your decision.

<itunes:summary>Quote: “The more you know yourself, the more you forgive yourself.” Confucius

Carrying around a grudge is a tiresome task indeed. Not only do you have to take care of myriad responsibilities in your life, there you are nurturing and feeding your grudge. To what end? Holding on is not helping you; it is actually hurting you. Where is the joy in that?

What if you were to take all of the time and energy devoted to caring for and nurturing your grudge and replace it with something amazingly enjoyable - something that you love? Just think about that for a moment. Imagine, even though you are extremely busy, you could be doing something that brings you profound joy such as: reading, walking in nature in peace and quiet, expressing love, teaching a child, giving or getting help, engaging in worship to God, deepening your faith through prayer, mediation, sleep, enjoying music - - you name it.

Replace that grudge with time for peace – that is what forgiveness can do for you. And the best part is, you can start right now. No tools, no magic formulas, no waiting, no excuses. Just do it. Commit to letting go and forgiving. Start by forgiving yourself, that will put you into the proper frame of mind. Then move on to forgive others. Feel the burden of your problems being lifted off of your shoulders. That is the power of true forgiveness.

<itunes:summary>Quote: “Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by its breathtaking moments.“ Michael Vance

Even when your life might be entering a rough patch, it is very important to remain open and receptive to the joys of others. It is the sign of a true friend when you can celebrate someone else's success – even if things aren't going so well for you at the time. This is time to take the focus away from yourself and to shine the light on to them. Bring on the empathy and congratulate them with your full store of enthusiasm. If a family member or friend finds a great job or reaches a significant benchmark in life, then really celebrate for them. Really get into it.

Don't let your insecurities or other feelings get in the way of the joy. They will appreciate you sharing in their joy and it will broaden and deepen your relationship with them. Focus all of your thoughts on the other person and none on yourself. Visualize the ways in which their life might get better and be genuinely happy for them. If you work at it they will feel great and you will grow as well. It is a true win-win.

3-Step Call to Action

1. Be ready and receptive to the good news of others.
2. Plan what you will say – even it is a simple “Congratulations, I am so happy for you".
3. Practice celebrating the joy of others at your next opportunity.

<itunes:summary>“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” Anthony Robbins

When you are at a crossroads in life and you don't know what to do – then rely on your values to see you through. How you might ask? Your values represent your internal compass. They reflect how you view yourself and how others view you.

	Are you honest?
	Are you reliable?
Do your values change with the circumstances?
How important is it for you to do the right thing?

Only you know the answers to these questions. Only you know whether you are satisfied with your answers.

When you act in alignment with your core values, you feel gratified. You feel a sense of purpose. It is not always easy, it is not always the lowest-cost option, but it is the highest-rewarding option in its own right both here on earth – and later on.

Your values can guide you in your life's journey as you navigate the twists and turns and try to steer clear of the rocky shores.

3-Step Call to Action:

Explore your options in detail before making an important decision.
How would each option affect you? How would each option affect others?
Align you decision with your core values and note which top three values governed your actions - those are indeed core values.

Do you have a thought that circles around and around in your head? Does it pop into your mind with no apparent provocation? When you aren't purposefully thinking about something else does it creep back into your consciousness? If it is a less than a happy thought, then it is time to banish that thought to the trash heap.

You have the power to replace that thought with a new and improved thought, a happy thought. Yes, you do. It doesn't work when you try very hard to stop thinking about something – your mind will take the cue and go retrieve that thought even if you don't want it. It will happen over and over.

But if you replace that troublesome thought with one that you have carefully crafted, one that supports your well-being and one that builds your confidence, then you are well on your way to increased happiness.

3-Step Call to Action

Specifically identify your troublesome repeating thought – let's do only one a t time
Identify any actions that you can take to rectify the situation that led to that thought and go do them, if any.
Replace the thought with another positive thought each and every time the troublesome thought presents itself.

<itunes:summary>Quote: “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:25

Often when we are wronged we hold on to the hurt. We own it – it is our hurt and we do everything we can to keep it. In the early stages we use this as a coping mechanism to protect us from further pain. But as time wears on we tend to hang on to the wrongs with pit-bull tenacity.

A better course of action is the act of forgiveness. Forgiveness is better for you – it invokes love, releases stress and tension, and re-balances your body chemistry. When you let go of the wrong and forgive the offender, your body will release a lot of negative energy. It is a major benefit to you – the offender doesn't even need to know that you have forgiven them – but you will know it. And remember, forgiveness is an act that is essential to you being forgiven for your offenses. See the light, get the help, seek the truth.

3-Step Call to Action

Inventory your feelings surrounding an incident
Relate the Bible passage to yourself, reach out in prayer
Go do what you need to do to make it right, now.

When the world around you appears dark and ominous, faith can be your beacon of light. We have no control whatsoever over the outside world and the random events that happen all around. We do have full control of our thoughts and our faith to help bring us around to find a way through. Seek the truth.

Faith is believing without seeing. What do you believe in? How has your faith changed over the years? If you are at a place where your faith is mature and you can have a personal conversation with God, your intended path will become clearer over time. You will be shown the way. In your heart, you will know the right course to take – in keeping with your faith and in aligning with your values. Obtaining refuge from your problems. Owning the truth. Loving your God. Finding your peace.

The action might not be obvious, and it might not be easy, but your inner guidance will tap your faith and light your way - in good times and in difficult times.

3-Step Call to Action

Explore your current relationship with God
Identify what aspects can be strengthened
Spend ten minutes each day for the the next week reconnecting with your faith in a new way.

<itunes:summary>Quote: “But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?” Albert Camus

Most of our lives are routine, each day looks the same. We are truly in a rut. We get up, we got to where we need to go, do the things we need to do - mostly on autopilot. Then we do it all over again. Many of us are joyful only for special occasions or we can be pleasantly surprised at times. It doesn't have to be this way. I have lived a large portion of my life this way and, believe me, this is definitely not the way to live. There is so much joy to be had every day in every way. Isn't it time that you got your share? Put your problems behind you. Find the peace.

Look around – there is “joy potential” all around you. The art of it is in the recognition. Take time to marvel at God, the light of the sun, a child, or a flower, or a pet – even your trusty morning cup of coffee. Take the time to consciously shift your mind to joy. Do it many times a day – it will make a big difference in your life. It really helps, honestly.

3-Step Call to Action

Plan to be receptive to unexpected joys
Recognize the beauty in common things around you
Look for five joyful things per day for one week – then you will have 35 sparks of light in your life.

<itunes:summary>Quote: “I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” Albert Schweitzer

Being happy is not only a personal attribute that affects your well being; it also greatly affects others around you. Your thoughts and feelings – both good ones and not so good ones - are contagious. So what exactly are you sharing? What are you broadcasting on your radio channel? Is it love? Is it peace?

Others pick up on your mood and behaviors whether you want them to or not. Instead of a whole host of other emotions, why not share happiness? There is no cost – after all, happiness is free. It is also abundant; it is in infinite supply.

You affect the key people in your life – in the same manner that they affect you. How might your life improve the lives of others? How would it feel to know that when people walk away from you, they are better off than they were before?

Your happiness can cascade to others; quickly and simply. Isn't that what you prefer to share with those you care about?

3-Step Call to Action

Identify an opportunity this week whether it is a meeting, a phone call, or an encounter
In advance, plan a way to share happiness where you normally would not. It can be a small thing to start out.
Implement your plan now and note any reactions in others. Note the reactions in yourself.

<itunes:summary>“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.”
Albert Einstein

Where does hope come from? And where can I get more of it – you might ask. Hope comes from your desire to seek a better future. It can come from the realization and acceptance that you cannot do it alone combined with the courage to reach out. Hope can come from reaching out to God to help guide you on your path – from out of the darkness and into the light. Hope can lift you out of sadness and help you focus on a new beginning. Or a renewal.

Hope can instill a renewed enthusiasm that there is indeed something more and better to come. Yes, you are a major player in making your new future happen. Yes, you can marshal your resources toward an important goal. Hope opens possibilities but you must be open to them and willing to let go of the past that is holding you back. You need to make room for hope in your life.

Three- Step Call to Action

Decide to seek a better future and define what that entails.
Commit to replacing negative thoughts with hope.
	Take action toward your goal.

When we find ourselves upset or experiencing a loss, it is natural to feel that we are alone, that we are the only person that has ever suffered through a situation like this. That nobody else has ever had this happen to them While it is true that each person is unique and each loss is unique there are many common elements in the way that people deal with loss.

One key way to accelerate your progress is to build your connections. Identify people who are willing to listen or give you positive and constructive support. You will know by the way you feel when you leave them Are you lower? Or do you have more energy and a renewed sense of hope? Your connections can be with your family, your friends, your church, or other groups. These connections are important – they help us to balance our perspective and feel the sense that we are not alone; that there is hope and there is help.

Three- Step Call to Action

Decide what type of support you want: just to be heard, do you want feedback or suggestions, or are you seeking professional advice and guidance?
Identify who you can reach out to. Are they willing and able to provide support?
Discuss your objectives, plan the session, and then go do it. .

When you find yourself in the middle of a storm, hang on for the ride. Get your boat to shore as best as you can. During this time of turmoil, the last thing you want to hear is that “it was all for the best”. Banish those statements from well-meaning, yet clumsy, amateur psychologists; yes, simply discard them. They know not what they speak.

Now, what you can do is to make the best of your situation. There is a big difference in the two statements:

It was all for the best – probably not true
Make the best of it – definitely true

Hope can get you through it. If you hope it, you can believe it. If you believe it, you can achieve it. Hope is a powerful tool in your arsenal of self-growth and personal development. Tap into hope and collect the powerful lessons along the way. You will be stronger and wiser and have more real world experience for the next time a storm blows in.

Three- Step Call to Action

What situation in your life is bearing down on you?
Spend a few minutes each morning declaring what you will do to make the best of it.
Chart you actions, your progress, and your feelings over the next week.

<itunes:summary>“Hope is the dream of a soul awake.” French proverb

Whatever you are facing, there is hope. Whatever has happened to you, there is hope. Perhaps sad feelings are starting to engulf you; perhaps you have suffered a loss. Maybe you are caught in a dysfunctional routine with limited options apparent to you. Well, there is hope. Somewhere inside you there is a small voice pointing the way out of the darkness and into the light. The voice is guiding you to a ray of hope. According to Helen Keller, nothing can be done without out hope and confidence. So when the world is crashing down around that is when it is most important to have hope. Your deliverance could be right around the corner; there is no way of knowing.

At times like these many people seek out and rely on their faith for strength and hope. Others dig deep inside and muster all of their positive energy and focus it toward their goal. With hope, you will find it; without hope, it is likely that you will not. Hope opens pathways while despair shuts them down. In times of sadness and loss this is truly the case where you need to “be it” before you actually “feel it”. Begin to shift and reorient your thinking toward hope. Proceed at your own pace - even if it is just a little a time. Lay the foundation of hope; then continue to build upon that foundation. It gets easier as the momentum builds.

Three- Step Call to Action

Identify a situation where you harbor negative feelings.
Connect with your faith or other source in order to isolate a ray of hope.
Build upon that hope with other positive examples and focus your energy on that hope.

As you become more aware of your core values and you begin to notice your conscious process of making choices based on those values, your journey into deepening awareness has begun. Your values lead your actions; your actions deepen your values. Like the well-worn trail in the woods the path you follow repeatedly becomes more routine, more habitual.

Are you following the trail of your conscious choice? If so, keep at it. If not, it is time to explore what is pulling you off center. What are the pressures? Where is the source of the pressure? Is an important trend building or it is it just a series of inconsequential choices?

Three- Step Call to Action

How can you evaluate your natural tendencies - the baseline vs. using a conscious values-based decision process?
How can you be more aware, in real time, to check in with your values when it is time to make an important decision?
How can you be more aware to check in with your values after you make an important decision?

<itunes:summary>“It's not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are.” Roy Disney

Life presents us with an endless stream of decisions that need to be made. Some decisions need to be made quickly; some need to be made publicly. We make some decisions without thinking, while other decisions require careful introspection and evaluation. Many decisions are required to be made throughout the day, many trivial, but a few decisions carry a greater impact. In making decisions, do we generally:

Agree to things only to please others?
	Merely follow the crowd?
	Take the easy way out?
	Hesitate to say ‘No’?

Oftentimes without even knowing it, we make incremental decisions, one after the other that can begin a subtle values shift. If we consciously tune into our values when making important decisions, similar to referring to a compass for direction, the outcomes will be more genuine, consistent, and aligned.

Three- Step Call to Action

Look back to a recent important decision.
To what extent did you apply your values? To what extent were you authentic?
How might the decision have been different?

You are in control of your life, really. You are in control of your actions. You are in control of your choices.

Taking charge of yourself by being accountable and accepting responsibility for your actions are hallmarks of strong character – and your authentic self. Living your life in alignment with your values is not always the easy course to follow – many difficult decisions must be made along the way. We can ask ourselves: Do I do the expedient thing or do I do the right thing?

When you live according to your core values you are in balance; life moves freely. When you stray from your core values, stress can build beneath the surface. Over time, you can come back into alignment with your core values or you can rationalize them away. You can shift your value set point; another value can overtake an existing one if followed repeatedly.

Three- Step Call to Action

Identify a situation where your core values were tested.
How did you feel before you acted?
How did you feel after you acted?

<itunes:summary>“Integrity is not so much a value in itself; it is rather the value that guarantees all the other values.“ Anonymous

Your core values govern the way you live and the way you respond to life. They govern the way you react to situations that present themselves. They govern the way you react to your friends and to your non-friends. You can consciously act outside of your values – but your true values are still there at your core. Your values act like a compass that set your direction initially and then keep you heading in the right direction over time. Your values represent your authentic self.

If you are not a generally aware person, your values can sometimes be more apparent to others than to yourself. If you are more in touch with your values, you can make conscious decisions by applying your values in real time to assess the right course of action. You can judge by the way you feel about the immediate decision itself and about the downstream consequences of the action.

Three- Step Call to Action:

Identify five core values that are very important to you.
Articulate how you live those values.
Consider how those values define your character - either who you are or who you want to become.

<itunes:summary>“A garden is evidence of faith. It links us with all the misty figures of the past who also planted and were nourished by the fruits of their planting.” Gladys Taber

Many people call on the power of their faith in times of crisis. But there are also tremendous benefits associated with your faith to be reaped in times of peace and joy. By being contemplative in faith during the quiet times, your mind is free to explore the wonders of the world, your hopes, and your dreams. You are free to take stock of the blessings in your life and to give thanks for the wonders around you. This gives way to feelings of appreciation and gratitude.

By being faithful – you can deepen your relationship with God without presenting a long list of requests. Think of simply going out with friends who expect nothing from you – it is a joy just to be together. Think of your relationship with God in the same way – share quiet times to contemplate, listen, and express gratitude. Observe intently as your faith begins to deepen. Be mindful as you expand your relationship with God.

Three-Step Call to Action

Reach out to God at times when you are in balance.
Note the tone of your conversation or musings.
Contrast the tone and content of the conversation vs. when you are in times of crisis.

<itunes:summary>"When you have come to the edge..and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing...there will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught how to fly." Patrick Overton

When life's circumstances have got you down it is time to reach out and time to reach up. While it is impossible to figure out the real reason why things are happening and specifically why things are happening to you and the world around you, the one constant that you can rely on is faith. When times are good - we often don't pose the "why me" question; but when times are not so good, we do.

Faith focuses our attention. Faith changes our perspective. Faith soothes our feelings of powerlessness. Faith provides a safety net to stop the free fall. In times of need, you are not alone; faith can build a bridge to see you through. Faith can help you to overcome difficult obstacles. Faith takes practice, so there is no better time to get started than right now.

Three- Step Call to Action:

Reach out for help and reconnect with your faith.
Stay with it and be patient. Profound faith will soften your stance.
Rejoice for your blessings and assess your troubles in an altered perspective.

<itunes:summary>“To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return, you will receive peace and happiness.” Robert Muller

Granting forgiveness to others does not mean that you approve or necessarily condone questionable actions by others. Granting forgiveness to others does not mean that you completely forget about the questionable actions by others.

True forgiveness means that you have moved passed the action itself and have forgiven the person. Upon your act of forgiveness, you have cleared your mind and no longer harbor bad feelings. Hanging on to feelings of resentment is harmful to you and your health, increases stress, and often has no effect whatsoever on the other person who is off of their merry way. Ridding yourself of resentment enables you to replace those swirling thoughts with positive, constructive thoughts. The act of forgiveness raises your energy level and brightens your outlook.

Three- Step Call to Action:

Identify an opportunity to demonstrate true forgiveness.
Work out how you will undertake it, in your mind or with the person involved.
Forgive them; then assess changes in your feelings over the next few days.

Sometimes it seems that there isn’t much within our control – but we can control what is playing in our heads. You have the power to experience joy – you can change the channel. Think about something that is very special to you, it could be: an event: (birth, graduation, wedding), a special person (child, a spouse, a friend),a pet, a painting, a sunset – something wonderful that fills your heart. Happiness is on the way.

There are special occasions in life that bring us unbounded joy. Joy enhances your health, longevity, and your outlook. How could that be anything but great? Why wait for a special occasion to experience joy? You can have joy whenever you want to. Really, it is within your grasp. Change your thoughts and you summon happiness and joy.

Three-Step Call to Action:

Identify the special times or special people in your life that make you joyous.
Summon memories of that special occasion, event, or people – use all of your senses to remember as much as you can. Make those memories really come alive.
Permit those feelings to envelope you and to pervade your mind and your heart. Spend a minute or two just basking in the joy of that special moment and feel your spirits lift.

You’ve got the power. Find your joy now!

You can decide right now how you feel. And because you can decide for yourself, why would you not decide, of all the emotions swirling around out there, to be happy? You can be and will be happy when you alone decide that you will be happy. Talk about an awesome power! So what are you waiting for? What is standing in your way?

Per chance, you do not believe me. Then try this. Picture yourself in very heavy downtown traffic. Nothing, I mean nothing, is moving. You are growing impatient. Then just as your light turns green and it is time to go, a whole gaggle of people start to cross the street right in front of you against the light. What?

How do you feel about that? Did your emotions shift?

Three- Step Call to Action:

Imagine a scene that brings you joy – quiet or crazy – it’s all up to you.
Guide your emotions there to sense the energy and feel the vivacious joy.
	Rinse and repeat.

You’ve got the power. Find your joy now!

<itunes:summary>“Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.” Victor Hugo

Have you noticed lately how contagious laughter is? Especially in times like these, we could all use a good laugh. According to Baruch Spinoza: “What everyone wants from life is continuous and genuine happiness.” What better way than to find a little humor in your day – each and every day. It is there all around you for all to see – it is you that is missing it. If you shift your perspective you can begin to see the irony and the humor in things and happenings in your world. Be childlike when you can get away with it.

Laughter is good for you and it is good for those around you. It aids your breathing and lengthens your life. What’s not to love about laughter? Go on and laugh.

Three- Step Call to Action:

If laughter is foreign to you try out a few joke web sites or pick up a joke-a-day calendar.
Find people who like to laugh and hang out with them; observe what is going on and witness the camaraderie that ensues.
Don’t take yourself so seriously. Have a laugh at your own expense; everyone else does.

You’ve got the power. Find your joy now!

<itunes:summary>“The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” Allan K. Chalmers

When faced with the hustle and bustle of life we do not often think about enjoying the present moment. We scurry from here to there and back - - always on the move. But where are we right now? Are you aware of why you are doing what you are doing? Is your constant busyness building toward something great? Or, not so much? Is there a grander scheme in your life? Are you happy right this minute? If not, why not?

You can decide to be happy. Yes, even standing in the longest supermarket checkout line when the register tape runs out. You can be happy in the short term by redirecting your mind toward positive, constructive thoughts and expressing gratitude for your gifts – even in the toughest situations. You can be happy in the long term by identifying and working steadfastly toward your dream.

Three-Step Call to Action:

In the coming week, when you are in a frustrating scene, decide that you will be happy in spite of the circumstances.
Identify a happy thought to immediately replace an unhappy thought – as quickly as you can.
Begin to chart your dream and your long-term goals to shift your time perspective from the “mundane” in the present to the “special” in the future.

You’ve got the power. Find your joy now!
