Diane Keeps Moving – Goal Setting

 At the beginning of the year I asked coaches in the Wellcoaches community to submit a list of ten ways in which they want to thrive in 2009. Diane is dealing with some challenging health issues and asked me for a series of coaching sessions to work on her health and life satisfaction. After our second session, Diane sent the following response:

Coach Meg,

Yesterday’s coaching session was great for me! Putting my three-month and in writing is striking; I think these goals are challenging enough for the next 3-4 wks! Here is what I am eager to begin working toward:

Diane‘s 3-Month Goals (May 11 – Sept. 1, 2009)

General Health

Goal: I will be going to bed by 10:00 – 10:30PM 4 of 7 days/week.

Activity

Goal: I will be doing a stretching routine 5 of 7 days/week.

Goal: I will be doing a strengthening routine 3 of 7 days/week.

Goal: I will be walking 15 minutes, alone, 1/week.

Nutrition

Goal: I will be eating in alignment with a Candida management diet, with the allowance of 1 piece of per day, 1 pastry per week, and 1 ginger brew drink per week.

Diane’s beginning 5-11-09

General Health

Goal Week 1-3:  I will go to bed by 10:30PM 2 nights per week and by 11:30PM nights per week.

Goal Week 1:  I will research the NADH supplement in order to support my goal of improving the status of my autoimmune condition, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue.

Activity

Goal Week 1:  I will locate & review my physical therapy/exercise file to decide which stretching and strengthening exercises to add to my wellness plan.

Goal Week 1:  I will experiment with stretching exercises 2 days per week to see how they fit and feel.

Goal Week 1:  I will experiment with strengthening exercises 1 day per week to see how they fit and feel.

Goal Week 2 & 3:  I will do the “best” stretching exercises from Week 1, 2 days per week.

Goal Week 2 & 3:  I will do the “best” strengthening exercises from Week 1, 1 day per week. 

Nutrition

Goal Week 1: I will locate information on the Anti-Candida diet in order to review what foods I need to restrict and/or eliminate.

Goal Week 1-3: I will eat in progressive alignment with the Candida management plan, beginning with restriction of pastries, candy, fruit, and fruit juice.

[Comment: 1 piece of allowed per day, 1 pastry and 1 ginger brew drink allowed per week.]
